Dance Films Association, Inc. (DFA)
Dance Films Association, Inc. (DFA), a member-supported service organization, promotes excellence in dance on camera and public awareness of the artform through its annual Dance on Camera Festival, Dance Film Lab, publications, grants, and workshops. Its many partners help to bring its touring programs to a wide public. Dance on camera is a collaborative art, one that fuses the ageless art of dance and the century old art of film. DFA aims to impart that spirit of collaboration to the world and to encourage a keen awareness of the magical ways to interpret time, space, and energy.

Dance New Amsterdam
Celebrating 25 years as a cultural leader, Dance New Amsterdam (DNA) is Lower Manhattan’s home for “downtown” dance. DNA’s mission is to provide a dynamic environment for dance and dancers’ career development through the highest quality modern and contemporary dance education and training, experimental performance, and artist/community services. Founded in 1984 in NoHo and originally known as Dance Space Center, DNA changed its name when it moved to 280 Broadway in February 2006. The state-of-the-art facilities include a professional 130-seat theater, six studios, a wellness program, two galleries and a reception space. DNA was the first not-for-profit arts organization to move to Lower Manhattan after 9/11 and plays a critical role as a resource for the dance community, as well as a renewing force in downtown Manhattan’s cultural landscape.

It is the mission of Dance/NYC to strengthen the dance community in the five boroughs of New York City and to serve as spokesperson on behalf of the field to the media, to non-profit sector, to local and state government and to the field itself. This is accomplished through three focus areas advocacy, communications and services to the field. Dance/NYC prides itself on supporting and nurturing the future of dance.
